Memrise uses mnemonic devices to help you learn new vocab, phrases and lists. Mems are created by users of the platform, with appropriate audio recorded for each one.
Much like Duolingo, there are multiple choice questions with an emphasis on true/false as opposed to a matching game. The leaderboard the site has incorporated is a great motivator too to keep users on track.

An example of the type of excercies one can expect is listening to an audio recording, as mentioned and selecting the correct answer, shown in the below image.
